What is Mikkeller San Francisco?

You can’t say craft beer without thinking of America, so of course we had to open a bar on US soil. San Francisco was chosen to play host to our first bar outside of Denmark. For this occasion, we found a 1907 Victorian building on the lower end of Mason Street.

The ground floor features the main bar, with 40 taps pouring beer from our outlets in Europe, San Diego, and New York, as well as a wide array of beers from the rich and varied breweries of the American craft beer community. The interior of the bar was designed with clear inspiration from our Danish locations, but enhanced by a touch of local decor. Bare brick walls and steel beams lend a slightly rougher feel to the light, easygoing Nordic undertones.

In addition to the bar upstairs, Mikkeller Bar San Francisco boasts a cellar known as the Tivoli Sour Room – named after Tivoli, the world's oldest amusement park located in the heart of Copenhagen. Down here, you can find amazing lambics and other sour beers from all over the world stored perfectly, aged gently, and served gracefully.
