Mikkeller Viktoriagade Street Party!
Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade will be celebrating its 7 year birthday on Sunday the 7th of May with beers, a flea market and street food in the sun!
A lot of beer has flown through the taps and under the bridge since we opened Viktoriagade Bar 7 years ago. The annual street party remains a tradition, though. The street party is as much a celebration of our first bar, as it is of our neighbouring restaurants and cafés in Viktoriagade. Meson Espana, Woodah and Cafe Tid will all be joining the festivities.
In addition to that, there will be an impressive array of Mikkeller’s own restaurants represented; you can have ramen from Ramen to Bìiru Vesterbro, “smørrebrød” from Øl & Brød and bagels from the new kid on the block, Hyggestund. After all that savory goodness, Kødbyens Is will be attending to your sweet teeth.
We will close off the street to secure ample room for a flea market, where everyone is welcome to join and sell off old, previously-prized possessions. No registration needed or fee required -- you simply have to show up and be willing to bargain for the right price. There will be bucketloads of colored chalk for the kids to aesthetically upgrade the pavement while you’re occupied selling grandma’s old pocket watch.
Furthermore, we decided to re-brew yesteryear’s hoppy banger: VIktoria Origin’ale. Last year the Viktoriagade crew went to Warpigs and settled on a light grist and heavy hopping for a summery session IPA to be brewed specifically for the street party. Afterwards, it quickly climbed into Ratebeer’s list of Top 50 Session IPAs where it still remains. If you missed out last year -- now’s your chance!
To complement the and lovely atmosphere and (surely) beautiful weather, DJs consisting of both locals and Mikkeller staff will be playing tunes from atop Firestarter’s old fire truck. The Firestarter will also be serving lighter brews in the street, while the bar’s taps will be stocked with a selection of extra special beers for the occasion.
We start at 11AM and the music stops at 9PM. The party naturally continues within the confines of Mikkeller Bar, where regular opening hours apply.
