Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend
It’s only a short propeller-plane ride from Copenhagen to the beautiful medieval city of Tallinn, where this year’s Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend was hosted in Kultuurikatel, one of the most impressive venues we’ve seen.
Looking like it could easily have been part of the set for Billy Idol’s Dancing With Myself, the old power-station-come-culture-house was home to dozens of local and visiting breweries for a weekend of madness of which we’re so thankful to have been a part. Both the brewers and the locals brought their A-game, and the seamless organization made sure that not a moment was wasted on anything other than pouring and drinking fantastic beers.
The Estonians definitely deserve props for their love of crazy beers, especially on the second day: they drank us dry before half-time! BA Raspberry Triple Bock and 12” Winale B-Sides were the stars of our offerings, and we were humbled by the love you showed for them. Everyone here seems to be on Untappd, and their check-ins were tracked on a giant screen throughout the festival.
It was great fun being a small part of the craft beer explosion happening in Estonia, and we can say only this: expect more big things to come out this country! Respect to Põhjala for the festival and for the killer after-party at their bar Speakeasy, and great job to all our brewing friends who were there.
Vi ses!
