hop city fest

By Gemma Oliviero & Kasper Wendelboe
Over the course of three days, during the Easter holiday, Mikkeller and Warpigs was represented at one of the happiest beer festivals we’ve had the pleasure of pouring. The festival was held with our friends from Northern Monk Brewing Co and featured thirty breweries, both locals, fellow Europeans and American friends.

Before the doors even opened, guests were lining up outside for some fresh hoppy beers and a bunch of amazing food trucks. Crispy chicken sandwiches, greasy burgers, Mexican food and even African cuisine. Although it seemed like only a portion of what Leeds had to offer, we didn’t go hungry.

We showed the good folks of Great Britain, how we do some of our crispiest brews over at the Festival, with a lot of people trying Warpigs for the first time. With their response, we expect it wont be long until we see them in Kødbyen in Copenhagen, thirsty for more. Though most popular seemed to be Mikkellers own Sorachi Ace from the Terroir series - one of our
own favorites as well!

The festivities was pouring into the rest of Leeds city, with Tap Takeovers and beer releases (and did we mention the great food?). We’re definitely proud to have represented both Mikkeller and Warpigs at this great festival, in this great city, with all these great people. We look forward to take part again in the future.
