Mikkeller in Madrid
After years of preparation you can now find a Mikkeller Bar in Madrid. Mikkeller Beer is already well known by the thirsty madrilenians, but now they can enjoy a cold one in the particular spartan yet distinct Mikkeller-atmosphere.
As always resident Mikkeller-artist Keith Shore has left his mark.
This time with a splash of orange. To find the proper location has been imperative, Mikkeller COO Jacob Gram Alsing tells. “We are in a vibrant yet cosy street in the center of Madrid. We have many small businesses as neighbours and in many ways the atmosphere is similar to where we established the very first
Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade in Copenhagen.”
The bar in Madrid is Mikkeller's second Spanish bar. The first one opened in Barcelona and serves beer (obviously) but also a menu with strong inspiration from the rustic Catalan kitchen.
In the same way Mikkeller in Madrid incorporates local tastes in many ways. The bar is built to naturally fit in the original space and of course to fit in the street. All employees apart from one (Dane) are locals.
“We love Madrid. Mikkel (Borg Bjergsø) himself loves to come here. The craft beer scene is highly evolving and we want to be a part of that development. We like to leave an imprint but we are also here to learn as much from the locals as we can, says Jacob Gram Alsing.

The list of Mikkeller-presence in major cities of the world grows and grows. Bangkok, Berlin, London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo to name a few are already on the Mikkeller-map.
Yet another big opening is on its way. Mikkeller has secured a wonderful 2-story location in the 9 th arrondissement of Paris. Opening will take place in the spring.
