Mikkeller opens bar at Copenhagen Airport
This June, waiting for your flight will be something to look forward to at Mikkeller’s location in the new Copenhagen Airport terminal. Mikkel Borg Bjergsø is looking forward to serving up specially brewed beers to airport guests.
”We travel a lot at Mikkeller, and though there’s no doubt that Copenhagen Airport is one of the world’s top quality airports in terms of shopping and gastronomy, there is currently a lack of good beer there, so we’re of course happy to help fill the void.’’
The bar will be a continuation of Mikkeller’s original concept: 20 regularly changing taps with a selection of tasty snacks. The plan is to have the location open 24/7 so travellers can enjoy a top notch beer no matter what time they’re flying.
’’A large portion of our customer base in Denmark is beer tourists who travel to Copenhagen to visit our locations, so it will be great to be able to offer them a beer right at the airport’’ says Bjergsø.
NEW FOCAL POINT
The new bar will feature a small merchandise stand with airport-exclusive Mikkeller merchandise, from beer and glasses to T-shirts and gift boxes. Travellers will also be able to grab to-go beers just like they do with their coffees at the various cafes on site.
The expansion of Terminal 2 will add 4,000 square meters and 25 new shopping and food and beverage locations to Copenhagen Airport.
’We hope that the new section will function as a focal point for travellers, whose unique preferences will be met with a wide range of products, whether they’re into craft bars, good old fashioned burgers or just a quick coffee and croissant” says Lise Ryevad, director of Airport Sales at the Airport.
