Weird Weather Non ABV
It used to be called near beer and was considered almost shameful to drink. Those days are over. In fact Mikkeller’s Weird Weather Non ABV – a New England-style IPA - won the prize Best Beer (of all beers) at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival in October 2018.
Sales of Non ABV beer have been on the rise since 2013 due to improvement in taste and a worldwide notion that being crazy drunk isn’t considered as cool as it used to be. New data from Danish Brewers’ Association show a 31,6 percent rise (from 3,283 million liters in 2017 to 4,319 million liters in 2018) in sales of Non ABV beer.

For Mikkeller, 2018 was a record breaking year regarding sales of Non ABV products. In fact the sales doubled. Top seller is an American Pale-style wheat beer called Drink’in The Sun. A classic since 2009, Drink’in The Sun is by far the most popular of Mikkeller’s Non ABV products.
Already the future is looking bright for contender Weird Weather Non ABV. Swedish retailers in particular have listened to the verdict of the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival and bought cans and bottles of the award winning beer by the thousands.
A third Non ABV beer from Mikkeller, Racing Beer, has met international acclaim. The English newspaper, The Independent, placed Racing Beer on a list of 10 best alcohol-free beers calling it “mouthwatering delicious”.
